Players Production 4
Mrs Warren's Profession
GEORGE BERNARD SHAW'S
MRS WARREN'S PROFESSION
DIRECTED BY JAMES FREEMAN
The play was first performed in New York in 1905 and its entire cast and management were arrested for indecency.
It was banned in Britain until 1925. It all seems quite tame now, but the play remains one of the most controversial plays of all time.
Mrs Warren returns from abroad to visit her daughter for the first time in years.
What follows is no ordinary family reunion but a series of startling revelations of illegitimacy, and prostitution that will forever change the lives of all the characters.
